Introduction
WATAPUR, Inc. is the registered name of our organization, approved as exempt from federal tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) section 501(c)(3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to us under IRC section 170. Additionally, we are qualified to receive deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under section 2055, 2106. We are determined to be a private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a).
WATAPUR initiated its operations in December 2020 with a mission to serve our community in Illinois. According to the NAICS categorization, we are classified as a human service organization (813311). Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for our clients by addressing their social, emotional, and physical needs. We work tirelessly to better our society by providing services that promote self-sufficiency, independence, and empowerment. Our operations are sustained through government funding, donations, and grants.
At present, our organization offers a range of programs to support youth development. These programs encompass cultural and legal awareness, career development workshops, language and computer learning, as well as youth networking events. Additionally, we provide assistance with public benefit programs, including SNAP, TANF, medical assistance applications, and more. We extend emergency assistance to individuals in need within the greater Chicago, IL area, as well as in Afghanistan and globally. Furthermore, we offer immigration assistance and tax filing consultations.
Our services are specifically tailored for low-income individuals, refugees, and the Afghan community in Illinois. To achieve our objectives, we have established partnerships with reputable organizations such as the Chicago Zakat Foundation, Afghans Cultural Center, Immigration Legal Services for Afghan Arrivals, Chicago Furniture Bank, HFS, IRS, and Ketab Relief Organization. Thus far, we have successfully served over 1.5K refugees, Afghans, and low-income individuals, making a positive impact in our community and beyond.
